When you support a streamer, two amounts matter: what you spend and what the creator receives. Bits and a wallet-based STEN donation reach that result through different routes.
100 Bits cheered means US$1 in creator revenue
Twitch publishes a rate of US$0.01 per Bit used to Cheer for participating Partners. At that rate, 100 Bits gives the creator US$1, while 95 Bits gives US$0.95. These are creator revenue amounts, before any relevant payout costs; they are not the purchase price shown to the viewer.
There is no single verified average purchase price
Bits offers can differ by purchase route, region, currency and bundle. A price seen on a phone is not automatically the same as an offer in a browser. On 15 October 2026, the Dutch Apple App Store listing displayed 95 Bits for €1.99. This is a published iOS listing, not a completed checkout or confirmation that every listed bundle is selectable by every viewer.
A worked example: 95 Bits for €2.25
Suppose a viewer’s checkout shows 95 Bits for €2.25. Dividing €2.25 by 95 and multiplying by 100 gives approximately €2.37 per 100 Bits at that unit price. That calculation does not establish that Twitch sells a 100-Bit bundle for €2.37.
The €2.25 offer here is a viewer-reported illustration, not an independently verified current Twitch price. If all 95 Bits are used to Cheer, the creator rate gives US$0.95. Do not subtract US$0.95 from €2.25 as though both amounts use the same currency.
The gap is not automatically a Twitch fee
A complete comparison needs the actual offer, purchase route, taxes, relevant platform charges, exchange rate and payout costs. Without that information, the gap is not a verified Twitch fee or profit percentage. We therefore do not publish a universal “Twitch takes 30% of donations” claim.
What the STEN 97/3 model means
STEN’s standard model allocates 97% of the Solana (SOL) or STEN coins donated to the streamer and 3% to STEN’s platform service. For example, a donation of 1 SOL splits into 0.97 SOL for the streamer and 0.03 SOL for STEN, before separate costs.
Network fees use SOL. New token accounts can require a storage balance. External purchase, exchange and sale costs can also apply, and token values can change. Consequently, 97% of donated coins is not a guarantee that the streamer receives 97% of every euro a viewer spent along the way.
Choose the route that fits your support
Already hold SOL or STEN in a compatible wallet? STEN offers a direct wallet-based option, a stated platform split and a message linked to the streamer’s active overlay. Bits offers a familiar experience inside Twitch, including native Cheermotes and Bit Badges. These are different features as well as different payment models.
For a small donation, buying crypto specifically can introduce extra costs and steps. Compare the complete route and use the option you understand. Your intention to support the creator matters; the payment method determines how the money or coins travel.
